Guest Post: Skye McNeil – My Favorite Minor Characters in KEVLAR

Happy release day to Kevlar, book two in Macha MC! I’m so very excited for you all to read Nikita and Kevlar’s story. There’s suspense, intrigue, and of course, plenty of romance to make your toes curl. But before we dive right into Kevlar, I wanted to tell you my favorite minor characters in the book: Hawk and Mandi.

As many of you know, Hawk is one of Macha’s patched members. He’s also one of my favorites to write because he’s a wildcard at times. Hawk is caring, crass, but has a heart of gold that any girl would love to have as her own.

I can’t get into too many specifics because it’d give away Hawk’s evolution throughout Kevlar. What I can tell you is that Hawk isn’t the tough guy biker everyone expects him to be. Sure, he loves to rev his motorcycle, hang with the club nymphs, and show off his tattoo skills in the club’s parlor, but there’s more to him. He wouldn’t be a true Macha biker if there wasn’t.

My second favorite character to write is named Mandi Riggs. She’s Nikita’s best friend and partner in the FBI. She’s also a sassy spitfire who adores flashy clothes and lively music. I absolutely loved this character because she’s the best of both worlds. She keeps Nikita grounded, but also likes to let loose and have fun. Also, her love for junk food is one I can completely relate to.

Throughout Kevlar, you notice Mandi and Hawk separately and a few times together. As much as I would’ve loved to indulge in more of this couple, certain allowances had to be made for both Nikita and Hawk’s character development.

As you read Kevlar, see if you pick up the foreshadowing for Hawk and Mandi. I left a few in there for the romance and MC lovers. These characters may be minor, but their additions to the story truly make Kevlar a book to remember. Enjoy the ride!
