A Rapid Response Interview with Luke Jones

I sat down to shoot off 25 rapid-fire questions to one half rock music’s sexiest set of twins, the notoriously camera and publicity shy Luke Jones, of the Heartless Few. I’m pretty sure the pleasure was all mine. Here’s what went down.

Virtue or vice?
Virtue with a little vice on the side.

Savory or sweet?
Sweet.

When I dance I look like…
Someone put a flaming bag of poop on my doorstep and I’m stamping out the fire. There’s a reason I play the music not dance to it!

Summer or winter?
Summer. The world comes alive when it’s warm.

Describe the perfect kiss in three words.
On her lips.

Ask permission, or beg forgiveness?
I used to say ask permission, but lately I’m starting to reconsider. If we over analyze and self edit all time, sometimes we miss out on the best things in life. Sometimes it’s better to just say fuck it and do what you need to do.

Have you ever been in love? How many times?
I’ve been infatuated or in lust several times. Truly in love, only once and forever.

What do you eat for breakfast?
I’m not really a breakfast kind of a guy. I start the day with coffee.

Who do you admire?
Anyone who can grab life by the balls and live it their way. It’s taking me years to get to the stage where I can do the same.

Who is your favorite superhero?
My mom. She brought up four wild and energetic boys solo while working full time. She’s epic.

Champagne or vodka?
Vodka

What is your biggest regret?
A decision I made years ago to not be true to myself, and to deny my feelings for someone in my life. Although I thought it was for the best at time, it hurt us both in the long run. You live and learn, and I’m working to make it right.

Do you believe in fate?
1000%. Things happen for a reason, even if sometimes that reason isn’t always obvious at the time. It’s a cliché, but what’s meant to be will be.

If you could have anyone to dinner, alive or dead, who would it be?
My dad, hands down. He died when I was a kid, and there’s so much shit I would love to say to him as an adult.

Favorite city in the world?
New York. Nothing beats it.

Window or aisle?
Window. I love to reflect on the view.

What’s your middle name?
Did my asshole of a brother put you up to that? It’s classified information. I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you!

Do you believe in love at first sight?
I have to. I’ve experienced it firsthand.

What is your dream job?
I’m a lucky bastard. I get to live my dream every day.

Describe yourself in three words.
Adult-in-training.

Morning or night?
Morning, if I’m not working. Otherwise it has to be night.

What’s your favorite view?
The one from my side of the bed.

LA or New York?
New York. After years west-side, I’ve finally realized that home is where the heart is. I’m back in NYC to stay.

What’s your favorite Jell-O flavor?
How is that even a question? Grape, of course. What kind of savage do you take me for?

Do you believe in soul mates?
I definitely believe another person can speak to our soul, and see us or understand us more than anybody else on the planet. I don’t think we have any control or say over who that person is. The trick is finding them, recognizing them and holding on to them when we do.
