Hot Tree Publishing Exclusive Genre-linked Collection
Riding the Lines is a new motorcycle club romance genre-linked collection of novellas. Stories must be m/f romance with a strong HEA/HFN. To ensure uniformity, covers will be chosen by Hot Tree Publishing. Each story will be published as a separate entity. This is not an anthology submission.
All stories must be M/F romance with one of the lead characters being a member of a MC.
Status: Open for submissions. No deadline.
- One of the characters must be an active member of a motorcycle club.
- All stories are of novella length and must be between 30,000 – 49,999 words.
- The story must be a stand-alone novella.
- Genre: Contemporary motorcycle romance
- The story must include a strong conflict, memorable characters, realistic dialogue, sexual chemistry, and sex scenes.
- The story can be located in a country of your choice, with characters of nationalities of your choice.
- M/F stories accepted.

Our contract is for electronic and print rights for three-five years. We do not currently offer advances. We pay royalties at 45% of the cover price for eBook sales originating from our website. For other retail distributors, we pay 45% of net sales. For print sale, we pay royalties of 10% of the RRP.
There are four royalty payments made over the year, paid in three-monthly installments.
No, we do not. However, for two weeks only (October 1st-October 14th), we will open for full-length previously published novels.
The following subjects we consider “taboo" and will not publish. We do not accept works that contain pedophilia, incest, bestiality, necrophilia, rape presented in a positive light, or bodily functions as sexual activities.
Our current read time is approximately 4-6 weeks for synopsis and chapter 1 – 3 submissions.
If submitting your previously published novel during the two-week window, please allow 4 months.
Our aim is to publish books within twelve months of contract.
Yes. Once a contract has been signed, you will be assigned an editor from the Hot Tree Editing team who will work with you to polish the book. We do recommend you polish your manuscript as much as possible prior to submission.
No. Hot Tree Publishing, with close consultation with yourself, will be responsible for all cover art. You will be asked to provide detailed information about the book and your characters which the cover artist will use when creating the cover.
Yes. While the expectation is the majority of sales will be through digital download, print copies will be made available on release by Print on Demand. Print books will be widely available in online retailers, and through special order to libraries and physical bookstores.
We are a full-service publisher. There are NO publication or production fees to the author at any time. We provide marketing and promotion support for works published through Hot Tree Publishing. However, you are also responsible for the continued marketing and promotion of your published work, in addition to any other author costs. Author is responsible for other published works, promotional needs and author’s name brand. For example: swag, website fees, giveaways, author signings.
No. A novella in the any of our collections is published and paid just like a regular novel contract.
